The purpose of any businesses website is to engage your audience. Just as designing your brick and mortar location, your website serves the same purpose - to impress upon your customers your passion and enthusiasm for what your serving up (no matter what the business).
As you begin your journey into having your site designed or re-designed here are some tactics you should keep in mind:
- Use a Responsive Website Design
Mobile use is on the rise and you should be prepared. Make sure mobile visitors are welcomed to your site and not turned away because you are still using old, dated website design principles.
- Optimize your Website
Search is the key to attracting visitors. When it comes to organic search (unpaid) it is essential that your website is fully optimized.
- Make Navigating Your Website Easy
Make it easy for your visitors to find the content that matters most (to you and them). Make sure you leave breadcrumbs so that they find their way back.
- Appearance is Critical
Your website's design should project a business that is trustworthy and transparent. Use testimonials and customer reviews (good and bad) to help project this image.
- Create a 'Call to Action'
Don't over use the idea...by leveraging buttons and icons you can draw your visitors to act and engage. Make your call to action items standout and consistent throughout your website (color, font, etc).
- Make Contacting You Within Reach
Your contact information should be easily accessible on your website. Don't make your visitors hunt for your contact information.
